Footing Probe
Our footing probes confirm what's actually beneath your slab line — founding depth, bearing material and any existing footings — so your engineer can design with certainty and your build avoids costly surprises.
A footing probe is a targeted geotechnical investigation that uses hand augers, dynamic cone penetrometers (DCP) or small drill rigs at proposed footing locations. We log soil strata, measure bearing resistance to refusal, and where required expose existing footings of neighbouring or original structures to record their depth, width and condition.
Extensions, second-storey additions and works near existing buildings rely on assumptions about footing depth and ground bearing capacity. Getting it wrong leads to underpinning, redesign, council delays or structural movement. A footing probe replaces guesswork with measured data — protecting your budget, your build and adjoining properties.
